Republican presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul says he would rather look to God – “the original king” and creator – than to the government as a model for moral values. Addressing the Values Voters Summit in Washington D.C. on Saturday, Paul said it was in his view “impossible” to get morality from the government. Instead it comes from individuals, families, churches, and God. “But I prefer the different king, the original king, the instruction that comes from our creator, not from our government,” he continued. “Our government should be strictly limited to the protection of the liberties that allow us to thrive.”

This is the kind of man and Christian that I want for president, a man who is not afraid to proclaim the supremacy of God our King. If your candidate is not saying this and believing this you should ask why not?

A Great Woman Has Passed

No wonder the buildings shook in New York yesterday. Elizabeth Wright is dead. I am strangely saddened at the passing of someone I only knew through e-mail correspondence and through her brilliant, piercing and erudite writing.

We became friends years ago on a Southern Heritage e-mail list. It was somewhat odd that a Black woman from New York City would have an interest in such a list. It soon became apparent that she had a different perspective that that of most Blacks.

She was convinced that in the Southern White man lay the Black race’s best chance for a square deal. She loved the ideals of the old Republic and it’s Constitution. The Southern White men she contended were the only group of Americans who as a whole still talked about the Constitution, who still cared about the founding ideals. She felt that her future and her people’s future would be safer under the government of a people who still supported the rule of law than under the caprices of the current system.

She came to my defense, when I was accused of being a racist on that list by a certain person who has a mythical and a-historic view of the Old South. He skulked off the list yet, he still maintains his slanders to this day. Yet I would rather count her my friend than get the approval of a such a confused character assassin any day.

She was very proud of her race and what they had accomplished before the Liberals and LBJ destroyed the progress Blacks had made in the so-called bad old days of Jim Crowe.  In the 1950′s Blacks were at the height of intact families, single-family home ownership, low rates of bastardy and high levels of business ownership. All of this she documented on her web site Issues and Views.  All of that came to an end with the grossly mis-named Great Society.

I am very sad that she has passed from the scene. I hope that you will go and read her writings so that you can appreciate what has been lost.

It’s Not Repression when We Do It

You would be forgiven if you thought that this quote was about our post-Ruby Ridge, post-Waco, post-Oklahoma City, post-Patriot Act, post-America America. Actually this is taken from a State Department, 2010 Human Rights Report: Syria, from the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor 2010 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices from April 8, 2011.

So the Syrians it seems are protesting against these conditions that are a result of  “emergency laws”  that they have been suffering under for almost fifty years. They have been told that due to the emergency caused by the troubles with Israel they would have to put up with secret courts, warrantless searches, secret trials and endless detention until the current crisis is over. Did I mention it was for their security? Is this ringing a familiar bell with any body? Is it going to take us fifty years of the ill-named Patriot Act before we are in the streets like the Syrians are?

What rich irony that we, the greatest Democracy in the world, publish a paper detailing the human rights abuses in Syria and it is impossible to tell that this paper is not talking about the United States but Syria.

HK on Speaking Tour in SC

Here’s a headline: “My good friend HK gets a biased news report in the Columbia Daily Herald!” Of course that’s not really news. He has been defamed by much more important fish-wrappers than the Daily Herald.

This little hit piece which mentions HK, Kirk Lyons and me, has upon it all the greasy fingerprints of Mark Potock, chief shill for the $PLC, a non-civil rights profit organization. It is a mark of shallow journalism to run to and get any quotes from this discredited Leftist front organization.

I am proud to be mentioned in the same article with these two men, although this piece of scribbling hardly deserves the name of “article.” What he fails to mention in writing about the allegedly infamous “Napkin Incident” is that it was a light-harted moment in an otherwise serious meeting. Kirk and I were having our first meeting with HK who was then the president and representative of the NAACP in Asheville.

At that meeting we were discussing how to go about persuading the Ku Klux Klan not to carry out their threat to return to Asheville and recreate their recent march through downtown. They promised that if they did not receive police protection this time and if the cops allowed Communist agitators and AIDS infected Sodomites to spit at them and throw batteries at them, that they would make what happened at Greensboro, NC look like a picnic. They were referring to the 1979 shoot-out that took place between the Communists and a coalition of  Klan and neo-Nazi members in Greensboro at a “Death to the Klan” rally. Unfortunately for the Reds, it turned into a death to the Communists rally.

We were asked by the mayor’s office (unofficially of course and through back channels) to see what we could do to help prevent the threatened mayhem. Neither Kirk nor I had any connection to the Klan but we agreed to lend our expertise in far-Right groups to see what we could do to help.

One of the things that first impressed me about HK was his attitude about the whole situation. He said that he thought the Klan had a constitutional right to march, but under the circumstances and considering the heightened rhetoric that it would be better if they could be persuaded to postpone the planned second march. We agreed that it would be best and Kirk said that he would try to find a way to contact them and negotiate a cooling off period.

That meeting was the beginning of a long and interesting friendship with HK. We found that he was just as passionate about individual liberty, personal responsibility and the Bill of Rights as we were. We had never met before and  shoddy propaganda in the Asheville Citizen-Times similar in tone to this wretched news piece, had made HK think that he had made an appointment with the Devil. Instead we found much that we agreed upon and that we liked each other very well.

Unfortunately, they require a subscription to view the original story, but just take my word for it, it’s not worth it.

Nothing about the current adventure in American imperialism in Libya has made sense to me until now. Why was the US siding with Al Queda and the rebels in Libya to topple the man who just recently was brought in out of the cold? After paying 1.5 billion dollars in reparations for terrorism, I thought that all was forgiven. What with all of the hugging going on between him and his new best friends Brown and Berlusconi, I had assumed that all was forgiven. Now suddenly out of the sands come some rebels who want to topple Gaddafi and the US flies to their aid. What’s up with that?

Nothing the US has given in the form of an excuse for ordering a fourth war front, I mean, kinetic military action, has made any sense. Now it all makes sense. A gold based Dinar for Africa, especially with the gold rush going on now in West Africa would destabilize the Western house of cards even more. They have plans that don’t include African upstarts and that includes they former new best friend.

If you thought that Obama’s birth certificate was a fake, wait till you see this Photo-chop-shop mash up. Be sure to follow the link in the article, unless you are queasy. It is a little gory. If you don’t mind seeing a picture of a dead mid-easterner then you will have no doubt as to where they got the image that they pasted together with the Osama picture.  I don’t know what is really going on here. They seem to kill this guy with regularity. Maybe he will stay dead this time.

Tinkering in the Toy Box of the Mind

I have a suspicion that the US Military is using techniques like this against our own soldiers to make them do things against their will, breaking apart their personalities and using that fragment to form an alternate personality. These experiments have been going on since the 50′s. We know that they used manipulative psy-ops on visiting US Senators to Afghanistan to get more stuff.
