“The government systematically repressed citizens’ ability to change their government. The security forces committed arbitrary or unlawful killings, caused politically motivated disappearances, and tortured and physically abused prisoners and detainees with impunity. Security forces arrested and detained individuals under poor conditions without due process. Lengthy pretrial and incommunicado detention remained a serious problem. The judiciary was not independent. There were political prisoners and detainees, and during the year the government sentenced to prison several high-profile members of the human rights and civil society communities. The government violated citizens’ privacy rights. The government imposed severe restrictions on civil liberties: freedoms of speech and press, including Internet and academic freedom; freedoms of assembly and of association . . .”
You would be forgiven if you thought that this quote was about our post-Ruby Ridge, post-Waco, post-Oklahoma City, post-Patriot Act, post-America America. Actually this is taken from a State Department, 2010 Human Rights Report: Syria, from the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor 2010 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices from April 8, 2011.
So the Syrians it seems are protesting against these conditions that are a result of “emergency laws” that they have been suffering under for almost fifty years. They have been told that due to the emergency caused by the troubles with Israel they would have to put up with secret courts, warrantless searches, secret trials and endless detention until the current crisis is over. Did I mention it was for their security? Is this ringing a familiar bell with any body? Is it going to take us fifty years of the ill-named Patriot Act before we are in the streets like the Syrians are?
What rich irony that we, the greatest Democracy in the world, publish a paper detailing the human rights abuses in Syria and it is impossible to tell that this paper is not talking about the United States but Syria.
He floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.
Why is it that the Christians who have lost all natural affection (ἄστοργος astorgos, meaning they don’t love their own kindred. Look it up) want you to believe that this man does not know what he is talking about? If there is something wrong with Ali’s logic, I fail to find it.
The author talks about not paying much attention to the so-called news-media. This is a good idea for many reasons, among which are tuning them out for health reasons. I grew up with parents who were expert consumers of news programming. I ate dinner to the tune of Walter Cronkite announcing the day’s body count in Viet Nam. I didn’t need to know that and neither did they. We should have left the Vietnamese settle their own problems but we still haven’t learned that lesson.
For some very good reasons why TV news is a joke or at most badly done entertainment read “Amusing Ourselves to Death” by Neil Postman. Then go out and kill your television set.
|The following article confirms my experience with my own children and their cousins. All twelve of them have never been vaccinated and all have enjoyed very good health. They have never known many of the health problems that have almost become accepted as a normal part of childhood like ear aches (and tubes), asthma, ADHD, etc. Of course they have also all had chiropractic care since birth, were home-birthed, breast fed and have not eaten a lot of processed food or junk food.
Here is an excerpt along with a link to the rest of the article. This is actually hopeful news that there is a solution to these growing, chronic health problems. The solution doesn’t require anything new, in fact it requires returning to some old practices. That may actually be detrimental for some people. Those who love “progress” and who are enamored of the next new thing may resist going backwards. They are certain that new is better and that the present and future are always better than the past. There is also resistance from the Medico-Pharmaceutical complex. They will not easily be divorced from the vaccine no matter what evidence is presented to show that the bad out-weighs the good. For those reasons, I am very happy to see MD’s breaking ranks on this important issue and writing articles like the following:
The Marvelous Health of Unvaccinated Children

| Once upon a time, in April 2009 to be exact, I was invited to give a speech at a conference on vaccination. I was to talk after two of the best speakers France has to offer on the subject, journalist Sylvie Simon and biologist Michel Georget. At hearing them speak in the past, it was absolutely clear to me that the best option is to stay as far away from vaccines as possible. I just did not know what to do instead, to best assure staying alive and well. As a paediatrician and homeopath qualified to speak on the subject, I decided to setup a conference called “The Marvelous Health of Unvaccinated Children”, along with my friends, Sylvie and Michel. This work would later evolve into a book that analyses various life choices often made by families that do not vaccinate, including home birth, breastfeeding, simple therapies, good food, a tranquil living environment and trust in the capacity of the body to heal itself.
In my life as a paediatrician [pediatrician], I had spent lots of time in dialog with the parents who often needed to voice their fears about both disease and vaccines. We worked out together the best route for their children. Some chose not to vaccinate at all. Others held onto fear of disease, especially tetanus. In those cases, we postponed vaccination as much as possible and used alternative medicine to prevent damage.
I worked in Switzerland where there is no real legal obligation to vaccinate, only great social pressure. In France, just a few kilometers from my office, there were four compulsory vaccinations at the time (BCG was fortunately removed in 2007, and three remain: Di Te Pol).
Some of the basis of my ability to speak on the marvelous health of unvaccinated children comes from my personal experience as a medical doctor, having collected years of feedback.

This trenchant question begs to be answered. Unfortunately, many of those over fifty percent unemployed who if they had this read to them would look at the picture and likely answer, “He half-breed.” or “He mixt.” and that would be the end of the analysis. The author gives some appropriate solutions, but how shall we force them to be implemented?
